If You've Landed on My Blog...

You're probably someone Google-ing me to find out more about my business background. It's ok - I do the same thing. Anytime I talk to someone new for business, that's the first thing I do. Since I don't update this blog, or any of the old sites, I figured that I would do one big post and get the core info out there.

So, here's some info about me in a nutshell:

- I'm the Director of Online Marketing at ProFlowers and manage a mid-sized team. I don't post the exact numbers because competitors always want to know. Prior to joining ProFlowers, I worked at Yahoo!, Gateway and WebSideStory. I've been at ProFlowers for over 3 years.

- I enjoy working out. I've worked with a trainer for about a year - he's a former Navy SEAL and makes me be both mentally and physically tough. His profile is here: http://mykettlebellinstructor.com/cgi-bin/instructor.pl?ipage=640&rm=mode2

- Aside from working out, I like to snowboard and wakeboard. Here's a wakeboarding shot:

- I did my first mini-triathlon last year. Here's a couple of pictures:

- In April 07, I married Scott Vernier in San Diego. Our wedding was small but spectacular. Here's a mini video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE1O1EXEvxs

- My favorite trip took place last summer. We went to Rome, Florence, Venice, Sorrento and other cities. At one point in my life, I really wanted to be a photographer. I think I have a pretty good eye, but I don't have the technical skills I really need... but I took a ton of photos and here are some of the best:

- I don't do any consulting work because I don't have the time, and I'm not looking for a new job. ProFlowers is awesome and I'm having more fun than ever.

- I've been asked to speak at different events, but usually don't participate because it's what my company prefers. While at Gateway, I was interviewed for a Washington Post article and also made it into the book The Google Story. Here's a link: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4969899/
- I've also been named as one of the top in house SEOs. I don't do much hands on work anymore, but help drive the strategy. Here's a link to the article: http://www.naturalsearchblog.com/archives/2007/02/27/some-top-in-house-seos/
- Aside from strong English skills, I'm also fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. I am conversational in Italian and used to be fluent in French, but I haven't used that language in about 10 years.
- Anything else? Feel free to email me

Wedding Update, Wakeboarding and More

Our wedding is less than two months away and our website is up. The address is www.antonellaandscott.com

I went wakeboarding today for the first time in a few months, but it was the first time since I lost a ton of weight. I came close to clearning the wake a couple of times, so I'm determined to make that happen the next time I hit the water.

Lastly, I found out that I had a writeup in the book "The Google Story." A few years ago, when I was at Gateway, I did an interview with someone from the Washington Post... well, he wrote a book and put me in it. I didn't even know about it until a guy that I know called me!

A big post

Working backwards...

We saw Michael Buble in concert a few weeks ago. It was an amazing show! I was most impressed by the fact that he spent about 10-15 minutes walking around the audience, basically letting himself get mauled by everyone. He even went upstairs, which I thought was pretty cool.

We went to the Canyons in Park City, UT a couple of weeks ago. I went for a conference and Scott tagged along for some snowboarding. We got to ride some of the most amazing snow over the weekend, and in more important news... we got engaged on 3/31! It's taken us a while to get here, but I'm really excited. :)

Not quite as exciting as the news above, but the last cool thing was that we had a dual birthday party - Scott's 27th and my 30th. We rented out the Blue Lotus Lounge which is part of Parallel 33, and had about 30 friends come out. It was a great time, and it will be hard to top in future years.

That's it for now...

Domain Scam

I got a call today from 866-383-0986. Same thing yesterday. It's a foreign sounding person asking if I own a certain domain and saying that they wanted my fax number. I told them that I would not give it to them and they hung up. I searched on Yahoo for the phone number and found several blogs mentioning that the same thing had happened to them.

If your phone number is registered on the Do Not Call Registry, you can file a complaint here: https://www.donotcall.gov/Complain/ComplainCheck.aspx

If you haven't registered your number, you can do so here:
