I love trying new restaurants, so when I heard about one that was nearby, I figured we’d give it a shot. Someone was raving about Blue Ribbon Pizzera, and what’s not to love about pizza.
We went on a Friday and the wait was about 45 min to an hour, unless we wanted to sit outside at kind of a random table. Upside – no wait; downside – no drinks served outside. We were hungry, so we sat out front.
Bottom line, the appetizers were great – the burrata was good, but the bruschetta was awesome. The pizza… well, it wasn’t up my alley. I was excited when I saw that they had something I ate a ton of in Italy – basically, a pizza rossa – pizza with tomato sauce, but no cheese. The crust was thin and dry, but it almost felt a bit tough. With two appetizers, two pizzas, and some iced tea, it was about $70 after tip – a little expensive.
My advice, go for an appetizer or two, and don’t sit at the table in the front of the restaurant – you’ll feel like you’re in a fishbowl, being ogled by the people standing in line.
